A Cappella Armageddon!
Last night, OOTB headed up to Bristol Recording Studios to audition for the newest a cappella competition in the Boston area! After a stop at David Ottenheimer’s house (and the chance to meet Luna, the newest member of the family!), we took a circuitous route to downtown Boston and met up with some friends and family at the audition.
Bristol Recording Studios has worked with a cappella groups in New England for the past 25 years, and are excited to be providing new venues for performance:
“We’ve worked with so many a cappella groups over the years and we seem to work with more every year, we wanted to give back to the a cappella community. This also offers an opportunity for groups to win a substantial amount of recording time doing something that they love,”says Jason Blaske, studio manager of Bristol Recording Studios. “We’re really excited about this competition. It provides provides a fresh alternative to the many great a cappella competitions out there and it’s really cool that we’re able to host the Final Showdown at the Middle East, which is such a historic rock club.”
After we performed for the judges, we toured the studio and got to hear some of the great work Bristol Studios has done with the Harvard Veritones (check them out in two weeks at Yale, performing with OOTB and Yale’s Redhot and Blue at our Harvard-Yale concert!) and others. Dining out in Boston with alum Jenny McClain rounded off a fantastic evening.
